Lovely traditional British pub by the canal. I've not been here for years and I love the decor- very in keeping for a canal pub. Great plus for me was they serve good coffee and cake too plus we got a bonus free plate of roast potatoes as we held a meeting there- a really pleasant surprise...will deffo be returning , thanks

We finished off a lovely Sunday walk along the canal at The Kings Lock tea room today. We ordered a pot of tea for two and a slice of coffee and walnut cake. The tea came in a china teapot with china cups and saucers and was lovely. The cake was very fresh and tasty. We haven't eaten a meal there but the food looked great. Today's soup of the day was homemade curried pumpkin and it smelt and looked lovely. It is worth booking a table if you want to dine there as it is a small pub along the canal. Worth a visit.
Been for Festive Afternoon tea (and 1 Gluten free). What a lovely experience. Presentation was gorgeous, the food looked and tasted delicious. The teapots were constantly refreshed and nothing was too much trouble. After having been for quite a few Afternoon teas and been really disappointed this was just such a lovely experience. Gluten free choice was excellent (need to pre book). Can't recommend highly enough
The King's Lock Inn in Middlewich is located next to the canal. It is quaint and cosy with a great selections of real ales to sample. The menu is basic but it does have both hot and cold food on offer at very reasonable prices. The staff are friendly and helpful and you can mix anything on the menu. There is an adjacent car park next to the canal.
